RECENT changes by Microsoft and Google to phase out Manifest V2 (MV2) extensions have led to significant concerns for users relying on ad blockers like uBlock Origin. Firefox, however, retains essential features such as the webRequestBlocking API, allowing full functionality of uBlock Origin and other extensions. In contrast, Google Chrome's updates have severely limited ad-blocking capabilities, prompting developers to create a less efficient MV3-compliant version called uBlock Origin Lite.
On the other hand, Brave browser is committed to maintaining support for unrestricted uBlock Origin by hosting it independently. This ensures users have reliable access to powerful ad-blocking tools without compromising efficiency.
