Texas wildlife breach via third party leaks 3 million records

THE Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) reported a data breach affecting about 3 million individuals, stemming from a cybersecurity incident involving a third-party vendor handling hunting and fishing licenses. The breach potentially exposed email and physical addresses, phone numbers, driver’s license information, and passport numbers, but Social Security numbers, financial details, and information of minors were not compromised. TPWD is collaborating with the vendor to enhance cybersecurity measures and has strengthened access controls following the incident.
