WINDOWS 11 users have been annoyed by persistent full-screen pop-ups prompting them to back up files to OneDrive and set Microsoft Edge as the default browser. Previously, users could only temporarily dismiss these prompts, leading to widespread frustration. Recently, Microsoft has introduced a permanent 'Opt-out of backup' button in the Windows 11 25H2 build, allowing users to permanently avoid these notifications. However, its deployment is still unclear, as not all users have access to the update yet.
Additionally, while the new option addresses full-screen nagging, it does not alter the automatic backup functionality of OneDrive, which continues to sync files without user permission unless manually disabled.
