Orlando man jailed over five years for nationwide wallet fraud scheme

IVORY Joe Pruitt, a 61-year-old from Orlando, was sentenced to 63 months in prison for conspiracy to commit wire fraud, and ordered to pay $137,392.74 in restitution. From August 2022 to May 2024, Pruitt and co-conspirators executed a nationwide scheme stealing wallets with personal information, resulting in attempts to defraud retailers of over $179,000 using stolen credit cards. Pruitt was a key figure in the operation, which involved multiple states and over 30 victims. Several co-conspirators received various sentences, with the lead prosecutor and law enforcement agencies collaborating on the case.
