How a Large Bank Uses AI Digital Twins for Threat Hunting

JPMORGAN Chase is deploying an AI-powered system of digital fingerprints and digital twins to aid threat hunting, with the aim of spotting online attackers and anomalous behaviour while cutting noisy alerts. The bank currently uses digital fingerprints and twins to monitor about 19,000 of its users, with more than 6,000 applications operating within its environment.

Andrew Plummer, chief scientist for artificial intelligence and machine learning in cybersecurity and technology controls, explained that the system can characterise anomalies and assess their potential malignancy, helping decide whether to escalate for investigation. The digital twins analyse flagged events and model how a behavioural pattern might evolve over time, taking into account external factors such as storms or geopolitical incidents.

JPMorgan Chase hopes to roll out the approach to all employees, AI agents, and applications, extending beyond its current scope to improve threat detection while reducing false positives. March 24, 2026.
