POLYMARKET , a decentralized prediction market platform, has announced it will fully refund users affected by a recent hacking incident. The platform admitted that a third-party vendor had been compromised, leading to the injection of malicious scripts that affected some users. Blockchain security firm PeckShield reported that nearly $3 million worth of Polymarket's trading currency (pUSD) was stolen through a phishing campaign.
The stolen funds were subsequently bridged from Polygon to Ethereum, resulting in approximately 1,893 ETH being taken. The exact number of affected users and total losses have not been clarified, and SecurityWeek has reached out to Polymarket for further details.
