THE UK’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has warned organisations of a potential uptick in Iranian cyber threats amid rising Middle East tensions, with the advisory aimed at companies that operate in or have supply chains in the region. According to the advisory, there is likely no current significant change in the direct cyber threat to the UK, but the rapidly evolving conflict could alter the risk profile.
The NCSC urges organisations to strengthen defences and review guidance on DDoS, phishing and ICS targeting, recommending enrolling in its Early Warning service for timely alerts. CrowdStrike says Iran-linked hackers are already initiating DDoS and reconnaissance activity, signaling potential escalation, according to The Guardian.
The notice highlights vigilance for indirect threats and spillover effects, emphasising that those with assets in the Middle East should reassess their external attack surface and join the agency’s preparedness guidance. 2 March 2026.
