ABDELLAH Belmili, a 26-year-old Algerian, was arrested in Spain and extradited to the US for allegedly operating two cybercrime marketplaces, including Market0Day and Spoxy, between 2020 and 2023. The US Justice Department reported that Belmili used phishing kits to target major financial institutions, defrauding American Express, Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, and others. It is estimated that around $900,000 was deposited into accounts he controlled and approximately 5,600 victims were identified. Belmili faces up to 30 years in prison for conspiracy to commit bank fraud.
