JAPAN'S National Hospital Organization has reported a data leak involving hard drives from two hospitals in Hokkaido, affecting personal information from at least 180,000 patients and employees. The Hokkaido Medical Center was first alerted last June when a user reported that a purchased hard drive contained data from the center.
An investigation revealed that 33 hard drives, primarily from the Hokkaido Medical Center and the Hokkaido Cancer Center, contained sensitive information such as names, addresses, and medical conditions of approximately 186,900 individuals, with potential impacts on up to 510,000 people.
