ACCORDING to Malwarebytes, a new wave of sextortion emails bearing the subject “You pervert, I recorded you!” has emerged, promising that the recipient’s device has been hijacked by a “drive-by exploit” and that a real password is in their possession. The campaign appears to pull passwords from public, disposable inboxes, with researchers noting a sender named Jenny Green using the Gmail address JennyGreen64868@gmail[.]com who sent many messages to FakeMailGenerator users.
FakeMailGenerator provides receive‑only, temporary inboxes that are publicly accessible and not tied to a specific person, meaning anyone who knows the inbox URL can view the same messages and data, including passwords. The emails urge payment of exactly $800 in Bitcoin and claim access to cameras and other sensitive data, though the pages warn that the threat is largely a scam; the key warning is that disposable inboxes can expose passwords to anyone.
To stay safe, readers are advised not to rush, not to reply, to change any password if it appears in the email, and to avoid using disposable inboxes for important accounts.
