Marietta also affected by BridgePay ransomware attack.

CyberSIXT Evidence Panel Source marked as original reporting

MARIETTA , Georgia, was among numerous entities affected by the BridgePay ransomware attack, with the city posting on 13 February 2026 that online credit card payments were disrupted while a secure alternative was being arranged. The incident was described as a nationwide ransomware attack on BridgePay Network Solutions, occurring early in the morning of 6 February 2026 and impacting payment services for hundreds of municipalities across the United States.

According to BridgePay Network Solutions, their initial forensic findings indicate that no payment card data was compromised and that any files that may have been accessed were encrypted, with no evidence of usable data exposure at this time. The breach affected multiple BridgePay services and environments listed in their investigation, including production and UAT gateways and portals.

To continue online payments, Marietta said it would implement an alternative method and would restore select online services first, starting with Business License payments for excise taxes such as Liquor, Hotel and Motel, and Auto Rental. For now, residents needing a Business License payment can still pay in person at City Hall, 205 Lawrence Street.
