THE UK's Police National Legal Database (PNLD) has suffered a significant data breach, revealing personal information of police officers and criminal justice professionals. Managed by West Yorkshire Police, the database includes names, organizations, and work emails, which have been leaked on the dark web. The breach was identified on July 26, and the PNLD is cooperating with cybersecurity experts and the National Crime Agency for further investigation.
The extortion group ExfilSquad claimed responsibility, stating they possess 1.9GB of compromised data. There is presently no evidence of compromised passwords, but the exposure of personal details poses risks for targeted cyber attacks.
