CYBERCRIMINALS are exploiting the hype surrounding GTA VI by circulating fake downloads that contain malware. A purported 113GB file, claimed to be a playable version of the game, was found to be mostly empty data with only a 50KB virus embedded. Researchers have revealed that the malware includes commands designed to disable antivirus software, allowing further malicious activities. The rise of these scams has been linked to real leaks of gameplay footage, creating confusion among fans.
Experts advise against downloading any unauthorized versions of GTA VI, especially with the game's official release scheduled for November 19, 2026.
