ACCENTURE’S majority investment in industrial cybersecurity company Dragos has closed, followed by Dragos’ completion of its acquisitions of NetRise and runZero. The transactions form part of Accenture’s $4.1 billion operational technology (OT) cybersecurity push announced in June. Dragos will continue operating independently, with Robert M. Lee remaining chief executive and becoming chairman. Accenture will add board members, while Dmitri Alperovitch is returning to Dragos’ board.

The acquired companies’ leadership and teams are joining Dragos to support platform integration. NetRise brings firmware-level analysis of device exposure and software supply chain visibility, while runZero adds asset discovery, exposure assessment and attack surface intelligence.

Dragos said the combined platform will extend its existing OT asset visibility and threat detection capabilities with exposure management and software supply chain security for sectors including electricity, oil and gas, manufacturing and data centres. Lee described the combined environment as “xOT”, covering systems that can influence physical processes.

Financial terms for the NetRise and runZero acquisitions were not disclosed. SecurityWeek reported that Accenture’s majority stake in Dragos represents an enterprise valuation of $3.25 billion within the overall $4.1 billion deal value.
