MICROSOFT has unveiled a redesigned Copilot application aimed at enterprise and professional users, combining its consumer and Microsoft 365 versions under the single Copilot brand. The new interface is organised into four tabs: Home, Code, Autopilot and Office. Home brings together Chat and Cowork functions, while allowing users to create or edit Word and PowerPoint content directly within Copilot. Microsoft says files remain synchronised with the native Office applications.
Other announced features include automatic adherence to corporate branding in PowerPoint, improved data analysis in Excel and “Skills”, which turns repetitive tasks into reusable workflows.
The service is integrated with Microsoft IQ, which Microsoft says provides greater understanding of an organisation’s day-to-day work while retaining enterprise security, identity and governance controls. A forthcoming “Today” feature will review emails, calendars, chats, meeting notes and task lists to highlight priorities. In Teams, the new “@Copilot” experience is designed to use contextual memory and permissions for specific channels, group chats and meetings.
Microsoft is also introducing two charging models. “Everyday AI” will be provided through a Copilot USL, a typically monthly per-user subscription covering Auto Mode and Copilot chat in Office applications. More advanced “Agentic Work” features, including Cowork, Code, Autopilot, Astra and Fable, will use Usage-Based Billing (UBB). Microsoft says UBB will later be extended to individual Microsoft 365 subscribers. Agent 365 will include “FinOps for AI” tools for spending controls, model-access policies and usage analysis.
