NATHAN Austad, a third suspect in the 2022 hacking of DraftKings, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for his role in a credential-stuffing attack that compromised over 60,000 accounts. He pleaded guilty in December 2025 and has been ordered to pay approximately $1.8 million in restitution and forfeiture. Austad and his co-conspirators stole around $600,000, utilizing compromised login credentials from previous breaches.
Other individuals involved in the attack are also facing prison sentences for their crimes. Authorities have stated that the defendants were aware of the federal investigation and underestimated law enforcement's capability to intervene.
