NATHAN Austad has been sentenced to 18 months in prison following his guilty plea in a hacking scheme against DraftKings, where he participated in a credential-stuffing attack that compromised 1,600 accounts and resulted in the theft of approximately $600,000. The attack involved using stolen usernames and passwords from other breaches to gain unauthorized access to accounts. Austad, who operated a website selling the compromised accounts, is required to pay nearly $1.8 million in restitution and forfeiture.

He is the third individual sentenced in connection with this investigation, with previous defendants receiving 18 and 30 months respectively.
