AI security startup Mindgard has raised $30 million in a Series A funding round, bringing its total funding to approximately $42 million. The investment was led by Album VC, with contributions from Karma Ventures and other existing investors. Established in 2022 as a spin-off from Lancaster University, Mindgard develops an AI security platform that identifies and mitigates AI-related risks, having already discovered over 150 vulnerabilities in prominent AI products.
The new funding will enhance its product, engineering, and marketing teams, facilitating expansion across various sectors including finance, healthcare, and gaming. CEO James Brear highlighted the need for innovative security strategies in the evolving AI landscape.
