OPENAI has used its DevDay 2026 to signal a big shift towards the enterprise collaboration market. The company announced ChatGPT Space, a shared workspace designed to keep the end‑to‑end creative lifecycle inside OpenAI’s ecosystem, with enterprise employees, ChatGPT, and a new Dots assistant collaborating in one hub. The feature launches on desktop and web first, with mobile support to follow, and will be available to Pro, Business, and Enterprise subscribers.
A dedicated meeting plugin was also unveiled, which records discussions, generates summaries, and exports action items into a Space, with original audio files deleted after summarisation to address privacy concerns. Initial rollout prioritises macOS for Pro and Business users.
OpenAI is emphasising deeper integrations with existing workplace tools, notably Slack and Microsoft Teams. Users will soon be able to tag ChatGPT in channels or threads to generate materials such as presentation drafts, and the system will connect with other third‑party tools after administrator approval. The company also introduced a privacy framework called Private Intelligence, promising not to train on confidential enterprise documents, a key claim aimed at alleviating data leakage worries.
In parallel, OpenAI unveiled Pages, a dynamic document format for text, charts, images and data visualisations, plus a forthcoming Collaborative slides feature that will export AI‑generated content into PowerPoint or Google Slides. The strategy appears to move OpenAI from a technology provider toward a comprehensive enterprise productivity platform, embedding ChatGPT directly into everyday business tools.
