The alert stems from concerns that these devices, which collect vehicle data and have potential remote access functions, could expose sensitive information and compromise public networks.
The warning specifically mentions the NERO R-ONE, Cordon-series speed cameras from Russia and Croatia, highlighting issues such as mismatched communication settings, unknown hardware origins, and weak security protections. The authorities stress the importance of security checks for such connected devices, advocating for greater scrutiny and control by public organizations to prevent misuse by attackers.
