A data breach involving Connecticut's Medicaid program has exposed payment and claims information for approximately 41,000 HUSKY Health members. The breach was detected by Gainwell Technologies on June 25, 2026, when an unauthorized party accessed a provider's reimbursement account. However, critical data like electronic health records and Social Security numbers were not compromised.
The exposed information may include members' names, ID numbers, service dates, billing details, payment amounts, and information about outside health insurance policies. This is not the first incident involving Gainwell Technologies this year; a prior breach affected 22,500 members in May 2026. Historical breaches have included a range of compromised data involving personal health information (PHI) affecting thousands of individuals across different incidents dating back to 2020.
