OPTIV has launched CyberBOT, a free, hands-on cybersecurity learning programme aimed at classrooms, nonprofits and communities. Debuting on 21 October 2026, CyberBOT is designed to help participants recognise and defend against common threats in a practical, year‑round format, addressing the resource gaps faced by smaller organisations and community groups in keeping people safe online.
Developed by Optiv’s cyber education team, the programme centres on five interactive sessions: Cyber Threat Actors; Email Security; Password Security; Social Media Security; and Mobile Security. Each session blends short stories, group analysis, games and role‑playing with classroom exercises to make concepts memorable.
An Educator Guide accompanies CyberBOT, supplying workshop themes, activity instructions and timing guidance, plus printable templates and a downloadable certificate template to recognise completion. The initiative sits under Optiv Chips In, the company’s community impact programme, and positions CyberBOT as a resource to cultivate year‑round cyber awareness and practical resilience among students and local organisations.
Mary Esselman of Operation Breakthrough praised the project as a valuable, engaging entry point for teens into cybersecurity, while Optiv emphasises accessibility and real‑world relevance in a digital, AI‑powered environment.
