OPERATION First Light 2026, funded by China's Ministry of Public Security, resulted in over 5,800 arrests and nearly $300 million in intercepted illicit assets from cybercrime activities across 97 countries from January 15 to April 30, 2026. This international operation focused on combating scams, especially social engineering and business email compromise, leading to the identification of over 15,000 suspects and 142,000 victims.
Actions included raids, freezing of bank accounts, and the dismantling of criminal networks, particularly in countries like Brazil, Eswatini, and Thailand. Out of 152,808 fraud cases examined, more than 23,000 were resolved.
