MICROSOFT has introduced a new Teams admin policy to enhance security regarding external bots in meetings. This policy allows organizations to manage and control bot participation by requiring explicit confirmation from meeting organizers before bots can join. Teams will now automatically detect bots, placing them in a lobby where organizers can identify and admit them. This measure aims to safeguard sensitive information shared during meetings, especially with the rising use of AI tools.
Additional enhancements include a self-identification marker for known bots and the removal of CAPTCHA verification due to the improvements in bot detection.
