A hacker has allegedly stolen a massive trove of sensitive data, including highly classified defence documents and missile schematics, from a state‑run Chinese supercomputer. The dataset is believed to contain more than 10 petabytes of information and is thought to have been obtained from the National Supercomputing Center (NSCC) in Tianjin, a hub serving more than 6,000 clients across China.
Cyber experts who spoke to the alleged hacker and reviewed samples say the entry was gained with comparative ease, allowing the thief to siphon large amounts of data over several months without being detected. According to CNN, this could potentially constitute the largest known data heist from China. Read more at CNN.
