Aflac Japan breach exposes personal data of 4.38M customers

AFLAC Life Insurance Japan announced a data breach on June 15, affecting 4.38 million customers. Hackers accessed the company’s systems multiple times until the breach was detected on June 25. No US business systems were compromised. The breach involved personal information such as names, addresses, phone numbers, and insurance account details, and included bank transfer data for approximately 230,000 individuals. Aflac Japan is currently investigating the incident and has taken measures to secure its systems and notify affected customers.
