LOST No More: Apple has unveiled AirTag 2, boasting a 50% longer Precision Finding range and an expanded Bluetooth detection radius, with a redesigned acoustic chamber that increases speaker volume by 50% so alerts can be heard at twice the distance. The update also brings Precision Finding to the Apple Watch, allowing directional guidance and distance metrics to be viewed on the wrist, in addition to tighter integration with the new Share Item Location feature.
Apple states there is no price increase, with a single AirTag priced at $29 and a four-pack at $99, and availability is described as available to order immediately with retail release later this week. The AirTag 2 uses a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip, the same silicon found in recent iPhone and Apple Watch models, and maintains compatibility with existing accessories and the classic circular form factor.
Apple asserts the enhanced system, alongside updates to iOS, iPadOS and watchOS, improves findability even when items are tucked away or obstructed by fabrics. Availability for order and regional launch details are noted in the announcement, dated 27 January 2026.
