CYBERCRIMINALS are increasingly targeting the education sector with new phishing campaigns and fake education-themed websites as the new academic year approaches. According to Check Point Research, educational organizations experienced an average of 4,696 cyberattacks per week from January to July 2026, an 8% rise from the previous year and significantly higher than the cross-industry average of 2,150 weekly attacks.
