MICROSOFT has released updates addressing over 570 security vulnerabilities in its Windows operating systems and other software, nearly three times more than last month. Among these, 60 bugs are rated as 'critical,' allowing remote control over devices. The updates included fixes for three actively exploited zero-day vulnerabilities and approximately 250 elevation of privilege flaws, including significant issues in Active Directory and Microsoft SharePoint.
Microsoft attributed the increase in vulnerabilities to enhanced discovery methods aided by artificial intelligence. Security experts noted that as AI progresses in vulnerability detection, it may also expedite exploit creation by attackers. Experts suggest users back up data before updating, as numerous patches could lead to system instability.
