APPLE has announced its commitment to develop cross-device clipboard functionality between iPhones and Windows PCs by Fall 2027, following Microsoft's interoperability request influenced by European Union regulations. Microsoft aims to eliminate current restrictions that hinder seamless copying and pasting across devices, which require third-party apps to stay active in the foreground. The solution will allow copying content on one device and pasting it on another without repetitive permissions.
While Apple's move comes under the EU's Digital Markets Act, it remains uncertain whether this feature will be restricted to Europe or available globally, given its potential to enhance productivity.
