DOJ releases details alleged talented hacker working for Jeffrey Epstein

ACCORDING to Department of Justice (DoJ), an FBI informant said in 2017 that Jeffrey Epstein had a “personal hacker,” a claim reflected in documents released as part of the Epstein Files. The hacker’s name is redacted, but the document describes him as an Italian born in Calabria who sold his company to CrowdStrike in 2017 and later became a vice president there.

He was said to be highly skilled at finding zero-day flaws in iOS, BlackBerry, and Firefox, and to have created zero-day exploits and offensive cyber tools that he sold to several countries, including the U.S. and the U.K., with claims that he sold a zero-day to Hezbollah for cash.

The text of the document, which includes multiple redactions marked as OMISSIS, also notes that he maintained ties with “old school” European hackers and earned six-figure sums, laundering his proceeds through a California theatre company. The article, published by Security Affairs on 31 January 2026, presents these as claims based on the informant’s statements rather than verified FBI findings.
