CANONICAL'S Livepatch service now supports the Arm64 platform, allowing crucial kernel security updates to be applied without downtime or rebooting. This service is critical for long-running servers. Arm64 support is available on Ubuntu Core 26 and later versions, and also for Ubuntu 26.04 LTS. While Livepatch is part of the paid Ubuntu Pro subscription, it offers free usage for up to five personal devices.
It's essential to note that Livepatch addresses only high-severity kernel issues and does not replace regular updates, as Canonical still recommends occasional reboots.
