A series of class action lawsuits have been filed against major healthcare companies for potentially exposing patients' personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI). Notably, on June 11, three individuals (Jane Does) initiated legal action against CareNow, which operates in Middle Tennessee and is part of HCA Healthcare.
The complaint alleges that CareNow improperly shared sensitive patient information with Google and other marketing firms through online tracking technologies during appointment scheduling.
