A Facebook post falsely claiming Aldi is offering a meat box for under £10 is not from the retailer and leads victims to a scam flow designed to harvest payment details.
The user is redirected first to a site that fingerprinted their device before sending them to gifts-survey[.]life, a page that mimics Aldi and pressures with “only 1 spot left” and “you only have 2 minutes.” From there, users are forwarded to hyperbargainsflow[.]shop, where they are asked to enter payment details for a fake delivery fee and provide personal data such as their full name and home address.
Malwarebytes Scam Guard flagged the post as a scam, and the article notes that similar campaigns have targeted Woolworths customers in South Africa and audiences in Australia. The piece also highlights tactics like fake 5‑star ratings and auto-submission of pre-populated forms to speed data capture.
It reminds readers to be wary of links in comments and to verify deals with real retailer accounts, since two-thirds of online shopping scams now start on Facebook and Instagram, according to the linked Lloyds Banking Group data.
