CLOUDFLARE has launched the open beta of `cf`, a new command-line interface designed to let software agents manage the company’s full product range. The tool expands on Wrangler, whose roughly 280 command paths covered only part of Cloudflare’s services, by generating commands from the API schemas used for Cloudflare’s documentation and SDKs.
Cloudflare says this increases coverage to more than 3,000 API operations, potentially allowing an agent to create and deploy a Worker, monitor it, configure Cloudflare Access and WAF, and buy a domain from one interface. The company says agents accounted for 48% of Wrangler usage last week, up from single-digit percentages the previous year, and used almost twice as many distinct commands per day as other users.
The CLI is built around agent-oriented features, including natural-language command discovery through `cf cli search`, JSON output by default, and validated forms for operations requiring human input. It introduces `cloudflare.config.ts`, a TypeScript-based configuration format intended to provide autocomplete and language-server support for Workers, bindings, environments and triggers. Cloudflare says some internal Wrangler configurations have been reduced by 40% using the new approach.
Vite is the default development tool, although `cf` will continue delegating to Wrangler for JavaScript projects that require its esbuild workflow and for Rust and Python Workers.
The beta can be installed globally with `npm i -g cf`. Existing Workers can be migrated with `cf migrate`, while new projects can use `cf init`; Cloudflare says Wrangler will receive maintenance support for 18 months after the beta ends.
