WHATSAPP is introducing a 'View Once' feature for text messages, similar to what is already available for photos and videos. Users will be able to send messages that can be read only once, with the text disappearing from both cloud storage and devices upon closing the chat. This feature will prevent copying, forwarding, and screenshots, enhancing privacy for sensitive content. Currently in beta testing for iOS and Android, it is expected to be widely available soon.
This move aims to bolster security for business communications and reduce frustration from previous cumbersome workarounds for sending sensitive information.
