1.5 Million Impacted by Allianz Life Data Breach
In July, Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America told SecurityWeek that roughly 1.5 million people had personal information stolen in a data breach. The incident occurred on 16 July 2025 and involved a third‑party cloud‑based customer relationship management system used by Allianz Life. The stolen data includes names, addresses, dates of birth, and Social Security numbers.
Allianz Life said the breach was limited to the third‑party CRM and none of its systems were accessed, with most of its roughly 1.4 million customers affected. According to the Maine Attorney General’s Office, the breach affects 1,497,036 Allianz Life customers, financial professionals, and select Allianz Life employees. The attack has been attributed to the Scattered Spider cybercrime group. Allianz Life is providing two years of free identity theft restoration and credit monitoring services to the affected individuals.
