Jaguar Land Rover Factory Reopening Delayed After Cyber Attack

Jaguar Land Rover has confirmed a further delay to the reopening of its production lines following a sophisticated cyber attack, with the pause extended until Wednesday 1 October 2025. The company says the extended downtime will allow forensic analysis, the restoration of affected systems, and the bolstering of cyber defenses as it works to build a timeline for a phased restart.

In its response, JLR has enlisted cybersecurity specialists alongside according to National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and relevant law enforcement agencies to identify the root cause, contain vulnerabilities, and recover critical data, while teams work around the clock to trace the threat actors. Insiders report the attack targeted internal networks, affecting both operational and administrative systems, though early assessments indicate no evidence of customer data being compromised.

JLR emphasised that its retailer network remains open and fully operational, with orders in progress and aftersales services continuing unaffected, and it pledged full pay for colleagues directly affected by the extended pause.
