LAW enforcement agencies and tech companies disrupted 1.4 million accounts tied to scam networks in Southeast Asia during "Disruption Week." This joint operation involved the US Department of Justice, Royal Thai Police, and major companies like Apple and Google. The crackdown led to the arrest of 63 individuals and disrupted significant fraudulent operations, including trafficking workers coerced into scams.
Over $3.8 million in cryptocurrency related to these networks was also frozen, highlighting the effectiveness of collaborative efforts in combating cybercrime.
