Seamless Switch: Google Workspace Now Supports Direct Dropbox Data Migration

Google Workspace now offers a direct Dropbox data migration feature, a collaboration between Google and Dropbox that allows enterprises to move data seamlessly without manual downloads. Enterprises can initiate a migration within Google Workspace, once a Dropbox connection is authorised, with data transfer continuing server-to-server in the background. The process may take several hours or even days depending on data volume, and users simply wait for Google to complete the migration and receive a notification.

At present, the feature is limited to Google Workspace Enterprise subscribers, and IT administrators can connect up to 100 Dropbox accounts per migration session. The relevant controls are located under Menu > Data > Data Import & export > Data Migration (New). The announcement, dated 13 November 2025, describes a streamlined path from Dropbox to Google Drive through built-in APIs facilitated by the partnership.
