Why you should upgrade to Windows 11 now, and how to do it

According to Malwarebytes Labs, the time to upgrade to Windows 11 is closing in, with Windows 10 support ending on 14 October 2025, after which only Windows 11 will receive updates. The piece explains that running an out-of-date Windows version leaves you exposed to threats targeting older flaws, and that official updates add protections you won’t get on older systems.

It notes that upgrading from Windows 10 to the equivalent Windows 11 version is free if your device meets the minimum specifications, and provides a method to check eligibility by selecting Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, with the option to use the Microsoft PC Health Check App if needed. It also strongly recommends performing a complete backup before upgrading and mentions that Windows retains the old OS for up to 10 days to allow a rollback. The article urges readers to have a plan ready before 14 October 2025 and emphasises staying up to date to receive full protection and latest features.
