Neon Cyber Emerges from Stealth, Shining a Light into the Browser

Neon Cyber emerged from stealth on 16 September 2025 after raising seed funding from Austin-based Silverton Partners in April 2025. The company argues that securing the workforce, not just infrastructure, is the missing piece in today’s cybersecurity, and it aims to sit in the browser to shield users from phishing and social engineering driven by AI.

Its solution is a browser extension that, when deployed across an organisation in about five minutes, follows a potential phish to decide whether to block or warn in real time, providing visibility and a detailed forensic view of a user’s journey. Neon Cyber was founded in April 2024 and is headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, with Cody Pierce and Mark St. John as co-founders; St. John serves as CTO, and the pair previously founded AlphaWave, which was acquired by LookingGlass in June 2021.

Written by Kevin Townsend for SecurityWeek, the article notes that the platform can reveal actions inside the browser and the data leaving the company, offering new visibility into insider threats as well as external attacks.
