SafeHill Emerges from Stealth With $2.6 Million Pre-Seed Funding
SafeHill Emerges from Stealth With $2.6 Million Pre-Seed Funding, led by Mucker Capital and Chingona Ventures, marks Chicago-based SafeHill’s first public funding round after its stealth launch. The firm was founded by Mike Pena (CEO), Nicholas Gonzalez (chief revenue officer), Hector Monsegur (chief research officer), Ibrahim Karajic (VP of infrastructure) and Andy Sok (VP of product).
Monsegur, formerly the black hat hacker known as Sabu and the de facto leader of LulzSec, is now a security executive within SafeHill. The company offers SecureIQ, described as a continuous threat exposure management platform that combines AI-driven continuous penetration testing with human validation, delivering continuous asset discovery, automated threat exposure assessments and penetration testing.
CEO Pena says the platform aims to cut through noise and focus on real risks, effectively providing the impact of a dedicated team of ethical hackers at scale, with human validation as a safeguard in AI-driven testing. According to SecurityWeek, funding will be used to expand the engineering team, enhance ethical hacking capabilities, deepen partnerships with enterprise security teams and advance real-time monitoring.
