The Final Piece: Xbox App Hits Windows on Arm, Transforming Copilot+ PCs into Gaming Rigs

Microsoft has officially announced that the Xbox App now provides comprehensive support for Arm-based Windows 11 PCs, allowing Copilot+ PCs with Qualcomm Snapdragon processors to download and play PC titles directly through the app. The feature build sits on a broader breakthrough, with December’s Prism emulator update adding support for the AVX and AVX2 instruction sets, which are essential for running contemporary titles on Arm.

According to official metrics, over 85% of titles in the Xbox Game Pass library can operate smoothly on Arm-based PCs, and Windows on Arm supports online gaming with kernel-level anti-cheat software such as Epic Games’ Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC). Since the Copilot+ PC initiative began in 2024, Microsoft has been collaborating with Qualcomm to promote Arm hardware and refine software compatibility to optimise a wide range of games on Snapdragon-powered devices.

The move signals strong momentum for Arm across handheld and PC gaming, as Microsoft’s native Xbox App on Arm narrows the content gap that previously hampered Arm devices.
