NORWAY'S digital government infrastructure was hit by a third DDoS attack on August 24, disrupting services without evidence of data compromise. The attack targeted the Norwegian Digitalisation Agency (Digdir) and its service provider Vivicta, significantly affecting services like ID-porten and Altinn, causing login issues and service outages. Previous attacks occurred in June and early August, with Digdir stating this incident was about availability and not a security breach.
Despite speculation of potential Russian involvement, there is no confirmed attribution for the attacks. Digdir is working on stabilizing services, but users continue to experience slow responses and disruptions.
