Extant Aerospace ransomware data breach exposes 3,012 US records

EXTANT Aerospace, a defence and space electronics company based in Melbourne, Florida, disclosed a data breach that affected 3,012 individuals in the United States, according to Claim Depot. The company, legally known as Symetrics Industries LLC, manufactures and supplies complex electronic assemblies for the Department of Defense and international customers for both military and commercial use.

On or around 23 August 2025, Extant Aerospace detected ransomware activity affecting a portion of its network environment; following containment steps and notifications to federal law enforcement, the company launched an investigation into the scope of the incident. On 13 April 2026, nearly eight months after the ransomware activity was first detected, the company identified the specific individuals whose information was potentially compromised.

The types of personal information exposed included names, addresses, dates of birth and Social Security numbers, and written notifications were mailed to affected consumers on 13 May 2026.
