TIGERBYTE Cyber has emerged from stealth with $3 million in seed funding led by Hale Capital Partners, with additional backing from Tenon VC. The Hanover, New Hampshire-based company provides cyber-hardening technology for legacy AI and edge devices, including mission-critical systems used in aircraft, drones, satellites and vehicles.

Its Cyber Protection Suite (CPS) is described as an ultra-compact, plug-and-play platform offering hardware-enforced security features such as data validation, deep-packet inspection, network segmentation and post-quantum encryption. SecurityWeek said the technology appears to derive from WebSensing, a company founded in 2016 that developed single-chip network-security products and appears to have transferred its products and personnel to the TigerByte branding.

TigerByte plans to use the funding to expand its technology, modernise communications and navigation systems across military and commercial platforms, and increase US manufacturing capacity. The company said it has already secured more than $7 million in contracts with US government agencies, including the US Space Force, US Navy and DARPA.

CEO Sage Secilmis said TigerByte is combining several DARPA-developed technologies, including post-quantum encryption, data validation and formal parsing, to protect systems operating at the edge. The report does not describe a security incident or confirmed exploitation involving the company’s products.
