OpenAI User Data Exposed in Mixpanel Hack

OpenAI has notified some users about a data breach linked to Mixpanel, a product analytics provider, which was detected on November 8. The breach, described as a 'smishing campaign', affected a limited number of customers. Mixpanel took measures to secure accounts and reset credentials. OpenAI confirmed that its infrastructure was not compromised, and no sensitive data such as passwords or API keys were leaked.

However, a dataset containing user profile information, including names and email addresses, was stolen, which could be exploited for phishing attacks. OpenAI is working with Mixpanel to investigate the incident and notify affected users.
