QUANTUM Bridge, a Toronto, Canada-based startup, has announced an $8 million Series A funding round, taking its total funding to $16 million. According to SecurityWeek News, the round was led by a group including Wayra (Telefónica), Cadenza VC, Club degli Investitori angels, HPE and Bacchus Venture Capital.

The company has developed a quantum-safe key distribution solution built around its DSKE protocol, which automates the creation and distribution of symmetric keys and combines post-quantum cryptography and quantum key distribution into its SDS platform. SDS is designed to integrate with existing networks without architectural changes and can be deployed on network appliances or at endpoints, using an Ansible-based automation tool for installation and configuration.

The solution is marketed for use in government and defence, finance, critical infrastructure and communications sectors, with co-founder and CEO Mattia Montagna emphasising that the systems work within real networks today. according to SecurityWeek News.
