Windows 11 26H1 Update to Launch as Copilot+ PC Exclusive

The Windows 11 26H1 update is set to launch as a Copilot+ PC exclusive, with reports suggesting it will debut in spring or summer 2026. Like 24H2 before it, the release will be restricted to Microsoft Copilot+ PCs powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 processors, leaving other devices waiting for the 26H2 update. The article notes that the cadence disrupts Microsoft's previous update rhythm, which had two feature updates per year before shifting to an annual pattern.

Most of the 26H1 features are expected to be backported from 24H2, meaning the update will hold limited practical value for users already on 24H2 or 25H2. All substantive new features are anticipated to arrive with Windows 11 26H2, planned for autumn 2026, for both ARM and x86 processors.
